Great food and good service! It definitely is great "comfort" food. The fried chicken is really good, as are the red beans and rice and the mashed potatoes. My wife liked the fried pickles and greens as well.
This place was absolutely amazing from the food to the atmosphere to the people working! The price was totally reasonable. I felt the food should have cost more that’s how good it was me and my boyfriend have been on a trip from Phoenix AZ. We have been to different restaurants for the last 4 days and this has been the only one I have written a review for so that should say something. I had the fried catfish place with mashed potatoes and the green beans and it was all amazing! I won’t post pictures because my boyfriend already did in his review.
Great little spot in Bellevue that offers a good soul food option for the Omaha metro. Great seasoning for the chicken and fish. Candied yams, greens, and Mac n cheese were good too! Get the Kool aid, it's made to perfection
Cozy little place in old town part of Bellevue . Staff was clean and friendly . And quick service I got the catfish combo wife got the 3 pc chicken everything was delicious and big portions greens and red beans were on point I added a little Louisiana to mine I like spicy . Catfish clean and flakey. Can’t wait to go back and try some of the other options. Oh and food came out fresh and piping hot !!
Hand’s down the best soul food I’ve tasted in town! From the moment we walked through the door, we were greeted with warmth and genuine hospitality. I had the catfish, mac, and greens, and my mom had the oxtails, mac and cabbage. Everything was on point! The flavors were rich, the portions were generous, and the food came out fast and fresh. You can tell a lot of love goes into every plate. If you’re looking for top-tier comfort food and amazing service, Shug’s is the spot. I’ll definitely be back!
The fried chicken was sooo good. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Cajun hamburger, delicious. Fried catfish, delicious. Sweet potatoes, delicious. Definitely a favorite spot from now on!
Holy goodness.. this place is a goldmine! The homey feel, the kind staff, the OUTSTANDING FOOD! I can't believe it's taken us this long to try this restaurant but we'll be regulars from now on! The kool-aid and the pink lemonade was fantastic. The catfish fillet I got with green beans and mashed potatoes with gravy was heaven (I could literally eat a bucket of those mashed potatoes ). The catfish was cooked perfectly with a light and crispy batter that was seasoned perfectly. Hubby got the fried chicken with candied yams and collard greens and the flavors were incredible we loved everything we tried and cannot wait to come back and try more options!
We came from VA and found this spot. It was great the food was flavored perfectly the fried chicken was crispy. My fav was probably the greens but all of it was 10/10. Make sure you get the Koolaid. They do have a kids menu which was good and just enough food The service was great too the people are really nice.
